The ball juggling act of running two businesses, being a Mum & Wife and still wanting (needing!) time out has made these last few weeks a little bit huge!! Let’s not also forget that it IS the #festivalofcarrie this year which involves celebrating a certain birthday alllllll year long. Because, why not?!!!
Last week I headed off on 5 glorious nights in Melbourne with fantastic girlfriends and a Madonna concert *gasp* I know, right?!! For all the media bashing she’s been getting on this tour, let me set the record straight! She was AH.mazing! Ok given. We only had to wait 30 minutes, which by her standards would be considered early!!! But she was truly brilliant, un-apologetic and easily the best concert I’ve been to.
The rest of our trip was filled with crazy fun! Lots of dancing, shopping, an evening of Escape Room (we didn't get out), Teppanyaki which was hilarious fun with bowls being thrown and egg flipped at my face (all by the chef!!) and we finished the trip by seeing the musical Matilda. Brilliant!
Reality was fast approaching though and my welcome home was a pleading husband, “I really need your help to get a tender submitted” (for his business). I had to blow out those cobwebs real quick and get my head around serious *sigh* Would have much preferred to crawl up in my bed for a few days earning back a whole lot of sleep deficit!!!
Sunday was our de-stress day – Surf Lifesaving Club, hit of tennis and then we headed out to a friends block to go-kart. The other week I found out we (yes, we as in me!!) own a go-kart?! Apparently Ren had told me. I’m calling bullshit on that though ;oP Anyway! Fynn has been begging me to come out and have a go and Ren has been on the sidelines poking me too. I must admit I don’t mind a bit of petrol induced adrenalin, anyone who’s seen me on a jet ski will well attest!
I warned Fynn that once I got on, I might not want to get off and asked if he was sure he really wanted me to have a go?!!! Needless to say, Fynn ended up having to jump in a friends go-kart because I piggy hogged that machine for the rest of the afternoon! The track had just been watered down which only made it more fun sliding around the corners and I was unbelievably grateful for a full face helmet!! Who knew I could drive like such a demon?!!! I came out looking like I’d had an accident in my shorts LOL but with a huge grin on my face! Most importantly though, Fynn told me I was "AWESOME"! I had gone from wearing sequin dresses to being covered in mud and my cups of gratefulness, family & fun completely overflow'eth! I was also asleep on the couch by 8pm! When are we going next crew?!!
Needless to say, this week is all about getting back on top of my business. Oh, and getting a start on BAS hmpf ....
