  • Don't let the best you have done so far be the standard for the rest of your life.
    G. Swift.

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, "Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, and fabulous?" Actually....who are you not to be? ..."

I was sent an anonymous link to your site...and my heart goes out to you and your friend, Sheye and her whole family on the death of their sweet little Ava. {I too, have an Ava...she turns 3 next month.} I have experienced the death and loss of a 4-yr old daughter, Teagan in July 2001. I keep a blog and write and scrapbook often of Teagan and ourlife and journey through grief and beyond. Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with wach of you as you begin this same journey of heartache. I am now living a life of joy, peace and hope...but it's been a long and winding road. Feel free to stop by my blog when the timing is right for you to do so. My deepest sympathies...Ava will be missed dearly. From a faraway online new friend in Michigan, USA...
Incidentally~ your photos are stunning, Carrie. I could use your talents for a family photo shoot. Maybe someday.

God bless. Jane

i can't even imagine.
I am so sad for her family.
God be with them.

Hello, I stummbled through your blog by reading about Ava's story. I feel so much pain for them. It's so nice to hear you were there to provide support and friendship. I can't imagine the pain. Ever since I heard about Ava's story I have been thinking about thier family and praying for them.

Thank you so much everyone for your lovely supportive comments. It still amazes me how she has touched people from all over the world, understandable, but amazing!
In time, I will make sure Sheye has read all your wonderful words. Thank you xox

carrie, have been thinking of you and your dear friend & her family - as has everyone up here in carnarvon who knows you... to lose a child must be life's most horrific experience, but my lifepath has taught me that one will - eventually - find lightness again, even after being subjected to an unimaginable dark. you should be proud you have been able to be such a wonderful support to your friend - your words in honour of ava are just lovely. look forward to having a red vino or two with you in a few weeks on our way through south. xx nic, goodie & jasper xxx

Carrie - What a tough week for all of you. Please know that many share Sheye's family's pain - maybe enough to lift the load of grief a little bit. Sweet Ava is smiling - I just know it. Many of us in the USA have sent Ava off with her pink balloons. All God's peace to the family and friends...

Carrie, my darling friend.
I am sitting here with tears in my eyes, again, just thinking about what you have done for my family. You know I have spoken often in the last week about "Gifts From Ava" and while we met under the worst possible circumtances, you are one of the biggest gifts I've been given at this time.
I can never express what you mean to us or how grateful we are.
From the bottom of my heart, thankyou.

Carrie, is just the most gorgeous and wonderful girl! Picking you up was just my little bit that I could do to help Sheye, her family and friends. I spent a wonderful couple of days with you and I just didn't want you to go. It gave many people peace that we could get you over here to be with Sheye and her family, that was our gift to Sheye.
Lotsa love
